Noida Police Bust Major Illegal Cannabis Operation, Seize 10 Kilograms; Notorious Supplier Arrested
Noida Police have dismantled a major illegal cannabis supply network with the arrest of repeat offender Imran, recovering 10 kg of contraband worth ₹3 lakh. Officials say the accused, with 22 prior cases, continued trafficking across NCR after previous jail terms. Further investigation into the supply chain is underway.
According to officials, Imran has a history of serious criminal involvement, with 22 cases already registered against him. Despite multiple stints in jail, investigators say he continued operating in the NCR region, supplying illegal cannabis through an established network that had proven difficult to disrupt. His latest arrest, police noted, followed targeted surveillance and a planned operation aimed at curbing the flow of narcotics into the city.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Yamuna Prasad shared details of the crackdown during a press briefing, emphasizing that the operation is part of an ongoing drive against drug trafficking. He added that further action, including tracing the broader supply chain linked to Imran, is underway as authorities intensify their efforts to dismantle organized narcotics distribution in the region.
The seizure marks one of the more substantial narcotics recoveries reported recently in Noida and underscores the continuing challenge law enforcement faces in controlling illegal substances. Officials maintain that sustained vigilance, combined with public cooperation, will be essential in reducing the influence of repeat offenders and preventing the circulation of harmful narcotics across the NCR.
